Hi
I’m Stephanie,an
Editor near Atlanta.

Your Words Are Your Voice
I’ve been called the “Good Cop of Grammar” because I don’t believe editing has to be scary or scarring for the author. I believe the author should learn from the process and have the final say in their work.
I am progressive-minded and in tune with new developments in the publishing field. I’m an avid reader in my spare time and enjoy classics and speculative fiction. My goal is to help authors refine their work through quality copyediting, proofreading, and beta reading, so it’s polished for publication.
There are many different types of editing and editors. Developmental editors focus on the story, copyeditors focus on writing mechanics and style, and proofreaders focus on removing typos and formatting errors from a text’s final, laid-out version. I do not currently provide developmental editing (substantive editing).
I’ve done copyediting and proofreading work with indie authors, Kensington Books, and Meals on Wheels. I’m open to self-publishing or traditional publishing clients, publishers, and book packagers. I interned at Future House Books, learning the acquistions process and at Our National Conversation, a start-up media company. I’m also currently working with Romance Writers of America to develop a self-editing course for indie romance writers.
I come from a background in Horticulture and was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Georgia before becoming an editor. I conducted research trials and edited and published several scientific research papers. Furthermore, I assisted in curriculum development and instruction for college-level courses. Now, I happily work from home as owner of White Rabbit Editing.
